Healthy-alternative cooking & life mentoring program

“Our youth are ‘AT RISK’…at risk of becoming something GREAT!!” ™

Chef Tim and Kim Mehne

The program was created in 2006 by Chef Tim Mehne and his wife & youth advocate Kim Mehne.  Dinner: IS Possible  has been a major catalyst in changing the lives of the students involved in this program.  Like their slogan says: “Our youth are ‘AT RISK’…at risk of becoming something GREAT!!” ™ You just have to give them a chance and they WILL succeed!

Who are we?

Chef Tim Mehne and his wife Kim Mehne.  Together they saw the need for healthy thinking & living among youth, and wanted to help them move their world in a more positive direction.  Their love for working with and teaching youth is what drives their passion.

Program Directors

Chef Tim and Kim go beyond one dimensional thinking and view things from a perspective of mind and body meaning……the mind creates a path for the body to follow.  They express the idea that just because you come from a certain environment does not mean that you have to stay in or be stuck in that same environment for years to come.

Break The Cycle

Tim and Kim intend to help break the cycle of youth’s mindset of poverty and passivity through their program Dinner: IS Possible. As in the parable of “The Butterfly Struggle”, it teaches us….. “As you go through school and life, keep in mind that struggling is an important part of any growth experience.  In fact, it is the struggle that causes you to develop your ability “to fly”!

Changing Lives

The Dinner: IS Possible program is not just about healthy-alternative cooking, it’s about changing lives. Along with the weekly cooking class, our students have been awarded many opportunities to shine around Houston through their talents and creativity. We feel like it is not important enough just to be given opportunity, they must give back to the community as well, in order to prepare for bigger things in the future.
